The RH Micro Spatulas are designed for “Thread by Thread” tear repairs treatments of paintings on canvas and textiles.
Features include:
• Nickel Teflon™ plated silver tips on the spatula, offering a durable, non-stick low friction surface with perfect heat distribution.
• An elliptical sole surface area measuring 1.2 x 0.8 mm.
• Short warm-up time (on average 1 1/2 minutes).
• Operating temperature of 45°C, suited to treatments using sturgeon glue.
• Powered by a standard transformer plug pack with 5 volt DC, USB charger. I do not advise using this tool from a USB computer port.
• Manufactured in sleek satin polished stainless steel to a unique “Pen” design, including a cap to protect the spatula tip when it is not in use.
The RH Micro Spatula is connected to the plug pack by the standard USB cable with a 2.1 mm plug. If ever the wires in the cable should break and the power stop going to the Micro Spatula, rather than having to return it to RH Conservation Engineering to service, it is simply and cheaply a matter of replacing the cable locally
Should you require a Micro Spatula that offers a variable temperature, please see the tool detailed to the right.

RH Trecker, the original was developed
by Professor Winfried Heiber as
a tensioning aid capable of pulling the
two edges of a gaping tear together
and enabling the completion of a
thread-by-thread tear mending treatment. This tool allows the torn edges to be brought closer together while the stretched canvas remains on its auxiliary support. With the sad passing of Prof. Heiber the tool he supplied was no longer available, so RH developed our design. It differs to improve ease of use and to fit with our manufacturing capabilities.

RH Weight Bars, we offer 2 designs,
the original “Heiber” weight bar, 120
mm long, 20 mm square in section
with an angled end. We also include
an alternative low profile design, 150
mm long, 20 x 3 mm in section that
are a double ended design, one end
being 20 mm wide, the other 10 mm
wide to get into tight corners or between the threads of an RH Trekker. These low profile bars require additional weight on them from either the traditional weight bar or small lead shot bag.
