Setting up

The end of the RH Suction Platen hose should be connected to the RH Suction Unit hose using the coupling supplied. A coupling needs to be clipped into the port on the undersde of the Paintings Suction Platen after it has been secured onto the photographic tripod it is usually fitted to.
When fitting the RH Suction Platen into the area to be treated, care should be taken to prevent accidental damage by the corners of the platen.
If needed, a masking strip may be placed around the edge of the suction surface to prevent distortion of some materials.
If wet after use, the RH Suction Platen should be allowed to air dry before being packed away.

If using a vacuum cleaner as a source of vacuum, it is advisable to use a wet and dry industrial type and if solvents are to be used, check the vacuum cleaner manufacturer's instructions.
When cleaning the RH Suction Platen no abrasive cleaners or strong alkalis should be used.
There should be no reason for it to be dismantled at any time.

Please Note: RH equipment is intended for use only by professional conservators. Use by inexperienced operators may result in damage to objects being treated.
