After initial training as a cabinet maker making hand made custom furniture, Robin travelled to London in 1980 and there resided for 6 years, During this period Robin studied at the London College of Furniture, Victorian and Albert Museum, and the Study Centre before commencing conservation work in private practice. In 1986 Robin returned to Australia and established the conservation practice This has involved work Australia-wide and internationally and in 1991 started RH Conservation Engineering.
